Doug Ford calls federal environment minister ‘a real piece of work’

Dear Editors,
Doug Ford says he will put his "record on the environment against any government in the history of this province, or right across the country.” He had better hope no one actually does that, as they would soon realize that his government has delivered the worst environmental performance of any government in Ontario in the post Second World War era. In almost every area, from land-use planning to industrial water pollution, the Ford government has turned the clock back decades on the province's approach to environmental matters. The government has scrapped the province's climate change plan and replaced it with plans, from highway projects to new gas-fired power plants, that will increase its emissions. In the face of that kind of record, Ontario needs all the federal 'loose cannons' on the environment it can get.
Yours sincerely,
